PERCY PAUL LUBEGA(MBA)

Who is Percy Paul Lubega?

Percy is an accomplished Marketer who has been in the country`s financial sector for over 15 years

Percy is the current Head of business Development and Marketing at Finance Trust Bank In charge of the overall bank’s business strategy, growth of all business lines, product development, research, branding management, alternative channels development, customer service.

Experience
Prior to joining Finance Trust bank, Percy served as Chief Manager Business Development for over 4 years. Here, he was in charge of Marketing, business development, strategy, research, product development and branding.

He was the marketing manager Centenary bank for a period of 4 years responsible for Marketing, Branding, CSR, and sales.

Previously, he also served as Marketing Manager Equity Bank Uganda having transitioned from Uganda Microfinance Limited.

Why Percy stands out
He is remembered to have greatly participated in the transformation of Uganda Microfinance Union to Uganda Microfinance Limited (MDI) and later to Equity Bank Ltd.

He positioned  Equity Bank to top 10 banks in a period of only 3 years an uphill task it was for some individuals on his management team.

During his tenure at Centenary Bank, Percy led the team in opening over 10 new branches, over 8 new products development, team expansion and brand positioning.

Education
Percy holds an MBA (Marketing) from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi and a bachelor’s degree in Education(Economics) from Makerere University among his various qualifications.

Who is Seanice Lojede Kacungira?

Seanice is one of Uganda`s most outstanding media, marketing and entrepreneurs who pioneered digital marketing. She has gathered over 15 years of highly successful communications expertise.

She is the current Co-founder of Blu Flamingo Digital Africa a pan African full service digital marketing & advertising agency headquartered in South Africa and branches in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Nigeria

Why she stands out

She is also a Founder DigiCon academy an online tech platform teaching digital skills taught over 20,000  individuals to date.

Seanice is a published author in the London Journal of Digital & Social Media Marketing
She is an unconventional thinker who started her first business aged 12 teaching dances to kids in primary school.

Experience

She is an experienced and highly trained radio & TV presenter having worked at Capital FM, Uganda & Kenya, East Africa FM, Sanyu FM, WBS TV & NTV- Guest host.

She cofounded Blue Flamingo Africa 6 years ago and has managed clients including Centenary Bank ,Airtel among other brands responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the long- and short-term plans. She is also directly responsible  for the Board and management of the Company and communicates to the Board on behalf of management

 

She was a TV Presenter on ‘Sweet talk’  on WBS TV a biweekly lifestyle show that ran on WBS TV with a panel of four women. Seanice, Melinda, Olga, and Crystal. From the lighthearted to the serious issues the provided a multi-dimensional perspective from four very different points of view.

She was also a program’s Director/Presenter Sanyu FM Kampala’s leading Radio Station playing todays best Music for 2 years

Seanice also worked as Director, Program Controller for 98.4 Nairobi, Kenya for over 4 years.

Among her various qualifications, Seanice holds Stanford Seed Transformation Program Certificate. The Seed Transformation Program is a yearlong leadership program for established founders and CEOs in emerging economies focused on growing their businesses and increasing the positive impact they have in their communities.

She also holds Information Technology Project Management certificate from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management

Who is Allen Ampaire?

Allen is a legendary marketing and sales queen in the hospitality sector. She has been around, seen it and literally done it all.

Allen is the current Country Sales & Marketing Manager at Kampala Serena Hotel  responsible for marketing sales, customer experience, events, sustainability arms of the 5-star Hotel and conference Center.

Having worked around the EastAfrican Region, Allen settled at home and to mentor hospitality professionals in rooms divisions, Hospitality Management, Customer Service, Management, and Hotel Management. Strong sales & Marketing.

Who is Judith Owembabazi?

Judith is a legendary Marketer and  a CEO material who has spent over 2 decades in both middle and senior management positions across marketing, branding, communications, PR, CSR, research, and product development.

She is the current Founder and Board Member, Kangaroo Nest and Gold Bird International Preschool and nursery

Experience
As a financial services brand and communications expert, Judith   has worked with several Brands including  Bank of Uganda, Housing Finance Bank, Ecobank among others.

Prior to concentrating on her various investments in education, real estate, Judith worked with Housing Finance Bank Uganda in various positions including General Manager, Marketing and Product development for a period of 9 years offering impactful leadership in brand image and reputation, product development and performance, communications, and branding functions.

She did great here. She was also Marketing and Public Relations Manager for a period of 6 years.

Prior to that she was at Ecobank as Head Brand and Communications for over 2 years. She took care of corporate affairs, CSR, partnerships, and alliances to position the Pan African brand as the bank of choice

She spearheaded the rebranding the Pan African Bank to drive consistent global footprint growth, across the African continent and beyond.

At Housing Finance, she led the team to achieve  the highest profitability that it had ever recorded, widened the bank’s footprint with more branches being opened, witnessed the acquisition of commercial banking license.

Caleb is a Member, Board of Directors CoRSU Children’s Hospital Kisubi a non-profit pediatric orthopedic hospital that provides high quality corrective surgeries to people with disabilities since  2016

He  served in various positions including CEO Dei Group a position he served for over one year, MD Fireworks Advertising Limited a leading advertising and marketing agency having cofounded it in 2008.

He has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman Uganda Advertising Association for 6 and 3 years respectively.

Why Caleb stands out

Having left ZK Advertising Uganda Limited early 2008, he joined Fireworks Advertising as MD and made a market shift by running successful campaigns for brands and organization including Pepsi, EABL, Tullow Oil, Barclays Bank, DFCU, UBA, Barclays Bank, NSSF and Fresh Dairy among other brands.

At Safaricom, Caleb served as Brand Manager for 3 years and during his tenure he Headed the Marketing Department (in acting capacity) with a team of eight section managers and the PR/Advertisement Agency. During the time Caleb spearhead developed and implemented  out of the box marketing plans under tight budgets a time Safaricom was advancing to various areas and his effort increased revenue by 30% that year .

He achieved that by restructuring media and communication strategy to increase share of voice by 20 percent points against main competitors that year.

Who is Olive Lumonya?

She is the chairperson Board FINCA Uganda (MDI) and current  Deputy Director General of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority a position she assumed on November 15, 2021

JULIANA KAGWA (MBA)

Who is Juliana Kaggwa?

Currently, Juliana is the Corporate Relations Director at UBL a subsidiary of Diageo PLC directly responsible for Public Policy and Regulatory matters affecting the brewery industry and UBL specifically.

As a key strategic individual, Juliana manages a vast array of both internal and external stakeholders on behalf of UBL.

She previously  served as a Marketing and Innovations Director since 2015.

Working experience

Juliana has over 2 decades of FMCG experience both at strategic and implementation levels.

Prior to her current position, Juliana served as a marketing Director at the same company, UBL for five and a half years. The marketing function she supervised was accountable for 50% of the UBL`s strategic goals.

She was directly responsible for business growth of local brands like Bell Lager, Uganda Waragi alongside internationally acclaimed brands like Jonnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys among others.

Juliana Kagwa has previously served in various strategic positions including Marketing Manager Spirits Uganda at East African Breweries Ltd.

She also served as a Country Director Heineken Uganda before returning to East African Breweries.

Who is Susan Nsibirwa?

She is the current Managing partner and lead consultant at Urge Uganda, a full-service marketing communications agency handling some of the biggest accounts across different sectors.

Susan`s wealth of experience spans close to 2 decades in leadership within sectors like financial services, media, telecommunications at both strategic and implementation levels.

She previously served as Head of Marketing at Uganda`s leading media powerhouse, Vision Group for 8 years managing the corporate marketing and communications functions.

During her stay at Vision Group, she was overseeing a 30-member team with key deliverables in direct brand management, public relations, internal and external communications, corporate positioning, product and service launches, advertising, event management and sales collateral among other functions of marketing. That is a huge responsibility right there.

 She will be remembered for having promoted and elevated the Vision Group brand boosted its market share and profitability year on year since joining.

Prior to joining Vision Group, Susan worked at DFCU Bank as their Head of marketing for over 3 and half years. She is remembered for her key role in the development and launch of Dembe account one of DFCU`s most successful products ever created among other key projects and responsibilities.

Having mentored, supervised, and groomed over 300 marketing and communications professionals directly, Susan took her experience in Entrepreneurship marketing and founded Urge Uganda a Marketing Communications agency in early 2019. To our surprise, Urge Uganda has been behind successful onboarding of some of the industry big names including Grant Thornton, FSD Uganda, Crest Foam Ltd in a short time possible.

Who is Aggrey Kagonyera?

Aggrey is the current CEO and Founder at Legends Events & Hospitality an events, marketing, and promotions outfit  responsible for business growth, client strategy, talent management.

MTN Uganda is a telecommunications market leader established 21 years ago. Aggrey having served for 14 years at MTN is outstanding and we consider him a legend who forged way on how devices, voice, data are marketed in Uganda.

Experience

Aggrey Kagonyera is one of the pioneers and longest serving managers of MTN Uganda having served at the Telecoms giant for 14 years as Senior Manager Sponsorships & Events.

In 2004,Aggrey spearheaded a team  to promote local music having been involved in sponsoring sports for a long time. This involved helping upcoming artistes by showcasing artistes of different styles from kadongo kamu to ragga and hip hop.

Why Aggrey stands out

He spearheaded  key MTN’s sponsorships including  Ekiggunda ky’omwaka every first weekend of July and in that year the festival brought together an estimated 50,000 fun-loving Ugandans to Nakivubo Stadium for a day- and night-long festivity at which more than 120 musicians performed.

Aggrey  will be remembered for spearheading the launch of Uganda`s biggest marathon, the MTN Kampala marathon a spectacular event property it has since become.

Who is Barbra Arimi?

Barbra remains one of Uganda`s most accomplished marketers and CEO material. She is the current Head of Marketing and Communications at National Social Security Fund(NSSF) responsible for Marketing planning, strategy, product development, Research, brand marketing, Communications both digital and traditional.

Experience
Prior to joining the fund, Arimi served as Group Head Corporate Communications and Marketing at Orient Bank for close to 2 years.

She joined Orient Bank from Centenary  Bank where she served as Brand Manager for over 3 years

Arimi has also worked as Marketing and sales manager Post Bank for over 3 & half years and did tremendous work there.

Why Barbra stands out
Barbra spearheaded the NSSF brand positioning, image, and reputation from the time she joined to date. NSSF friends with benefits, NSSF Financial Literacy programs, NSSF Mobile among other key projects and products were all launched under her supervision. The  latest is the digitalization of the old NSSF card to a multipurpose Visa enabled card.
