Who is Clare Nassali Mugabi?

Claire is the current Marketing Manager at Uganda Tourism Board a position she has served for the last 3 years.

She is responsible for UTB`s marketing strategy direction towards making Uganda the number one  destination in the region.


Prior to UTB, Claire was at Diamond Trust Bank  having served in various roles including Business Development Manager, Marketing and Communications Manager .This was over a period of about 3 years.

Claire has in the past worked with Bank of Africa as Manager Marketing and Communications, Finance Trust Bank as Business Development Manager for a period of 4 years and made tremendous business shifts during her tenure.

She also worked at AMREF as a marketing and Communications Manager for a period of 2 years.

Why Claire stands out.

Her deep insight into strategy  and past excellent record in corporate governance including marketing are exemplary. She has pioneered key campaigns for marketing Uganda including Take on the pearl, Tulambule Uganda. The latest is the Explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa a new brand that was launched early this year and was launched at the Dubai Expo late March 2022.


She  holds a Bachelor of Business Administration – BBA, Marketing from Springs University of Colorado, a member of Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK , an MBA from ESAMIN among her various qualifications.

Who is Sandra Arinaitwe?

Sandra is a marketing, communications, and media practitioner with a solid background in healthcare, real estate, advertising, print and broadcast media for over a decade.

Sandra is the current Marketing Manager for Rocket Health responsible for overall strategic direction, campaign planning, execution, brand management.

She is also the current Vice President of the Uganda Marketers Society.


Sandra previously worked at Knight Frank Uganda where she led the overall management of internal, external, and digital communication for the company and its retail portfolio for a period of  1 year. Her earlier years were spent at Vision Group where she supported business development initiatives within the advertising department and content production.

She also served as a Producer and Editor for several programs on Urban Television having worked as Marketing, Sales and Promotions Executive Sanyu Fm

Why she stands out

Sandra, who leads the country’s best customer experience team has been instrumental in building Rocket Health from the ground up. Rocket Health is one of Uganda’s most innovative and fastest-growing healthcare start-ups having launched in 2019; leveraging digital technology to offer patients safe and affordable healthcare which include consultations with medical doctors Under her leadership, Rocket health has won several accolades since its inception including 8 awards at the recently concluded Pearl of Africa Customer Experience Awards organized by the Uganda Marketers Society.


The graduate of  Bachelor of Science – BS, Sports and Leisure Management from Kyambogo University holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing, an MBA, Management Studies, Marketing Management from the prestigious Uganda Management Institute(UMI) among her other qualifications.

Who is Esther Agwang?

Esther is an accomplished marketing professional with experience in brand communications, media viability and digital marketing.

She is a lecturer and consultant with over 10 years of managerial experience in communications and stakeholder management, digital marketing, and change management for local, regional, and global projects.


Presently an independent consultant, Esther is enthusiastic about designing and implementing marketing and communication strategies for government, bilateral, SMEs and non-profit organizations.

She is an Associate Consultant for CIM, UK at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) study center, a position she has held since 2015.

 As a Media Viability Consultant, Esther is supporting local media houses become sustainable by enhancing their viability. And when not busy with marketing roles, Esther spends her time assisting HR teams in different organizations with team building activities. 

Esther started her career writing and telling stories as a Freelance Journalist at Vision Group. After 3 years of exploring journalism, Esther ventured into public relations and creating website content before diving into marketing. She elevated Watoto Church and partner brands the time she was their Brand Coordinator and Public Relations Officer. Her effort cannot go unrecognized.
Why Esther stands out

Esther is a founding member and the first Finance Director of the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS) established in 2017. Between 2019 and 2020, Esther was among Ugandan communications and change management consultants

that supported the Ethiopian government with the development and implementation of a Change Management and Communications Strategy for the electronic procurement system (e-GP) as part of the government’s landmark steps towards the e-Government system. Since 2020, Esther has been supporting the city of Addis Ababa with the development and implementation of a communications strategy as the city positions itself as Africa’s next best destination to work and live in.

Esther is among the brains behind the brand positioning of Uganda`s leading Pentecostal church, Watoto Church, Power FM and all its partner brands. She led their digital strategy, content, and execution for 12 years.

Esther is passionate about passing on knowledge and skills therefore she engages in coaching, mentoring, and training young professionals at different forums. For CIM students at UMI, Marketing and Digital strategy is an essential module and Esther has been the tutor for this and other modules for the longest time. She has coached and motivated students to cultivate a strong sense integrity, work ethic and innovation for personal and organizational growth. She has contributed the training of professional marketers and communicators hence contributing to professionalization of the industry. She is worth recognition.


Esther holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Herriot-Watt University (Scotland). She is a Chartered Marketer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) with a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. She is also a certified Media Viability Consultant among other qualifications.

Who is Timothy Luzinda?

Timothy is an accomplished marketer with over 10 years’ experience in various sectors especially FMCGs

Timothy is the current Head of Marketing at Crown Beverages Limited  the makers of Pepsi products. His position is both strategic and operational reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for development and oversight of  the implementation of commercial marketing plans to meet growth targets for Volume growth, market share and profitability.


Timothy is a strong business strategist and entrepreneur with hands-on experience after successfully implementing turnaround commercial marketing initiatives over the years.

Timothy was elevated to the position of Head of Marketing Crown Beverages Limited( PepsiCo) 2 years ago having served as Brand and Innovation Manager Crown Beverages Limited for over 9 years.

Timothy is among the first brand managers for Brand Manager Mountain Dew and Pepsi, Crown Beverages Limited for over 5 years responsible for monitoring market trends, oversight of advertising and marketing activities, communications for Pepsi and Mountain Dew brands.

Why he stands out

Timothy has done wonders at Pepsi with his partnership marketing mindset to position the brand under his custodianship to greater market share over competition.

He has lifted brand Nivana water through partnerships with brands including FUFA  aiming at tapping into sports especially in beach soccer and other events. Nivana joined a list of Uganda Cranes official sponsors led by Airtel Uganda, NIC and Nile companies.


Among his other qualifications, Timothy is a graduate of Social Sciences from the prestigious Makerere University.

Who is Hellen Basuuta Nangonzi?

Hellen Nangonzi is an accomplished leader with over 18 years of career experience especially in banking.


She is currently the Marketing and Customer Experience Director Absa Group  for the last 1-year responsible for  Segment Marketing and Communications, Product Development and Brand Management, Client Experience Management, Sustainability, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Crisis Management, and Community Engagement.

Hellen spent 14 years at Standard Chartered bank both here and East Africa and held several positions including Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing, Kenya & East Africa  for over 3 years, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank, Uganda for over a year among other roles.


Hellen holds an MBA from Eastern and southern Africa Management Institute(ESAMI), Executive MBA and bachelor’s degree, Social Sciences from Makerere University among her other academic qualifications.

Who is Sharon Kiggundu?

Sharon is the current Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Kabojja International School/, former President Uganda Marketers Society.

Her key responsibilities at the top international school include Protecting and Managing the School’s reputation, collaborating with management to develop and implement communications strategy based on the target audience and contribute to the strategic plan of the school, among others.

She is also mandated to expand the number of applicants in the school while Managing school websites, social media ,writing or producing presentations for both external and internal communication initiatives.


Her career started at Mantrac Uganda where Sharon served as Sales and Logistics Intern.

Prior to Kabojja International School, Sharon served as Country Sales Manager FINCA Uganda(MDI) for one year(2019) having served as Brand and sales support Manager between 2017 and 2019.

Sharon has since acted for Head of Marketing FINCA Tanzania for a period of one year.

Why Sharon stands out

She was the second President of Uganda Marketers Society since its inception in 2017. Under her leadership, membership increased, over 5 events were introduced to the Society calendar with the most recent being the Pearl of Africa Customer Excellence Awards.

Sharon was in 2021 appointed  Senior CIM-UK Ambassador(Uganda,2021-2022)  by the Prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing UK among few Ugandans.


Sharon holds a CIM  membership status with diploma and a postgraduate diploma in professional marketing(DIPM, MCIM) among her various academic qualifications.

Who is David Balikuddembe?

David is an accomplished marketer with over a decade of marketing practice especially in research and business development.

He is the founder/Chief Growth Officer at CEBS Ltd and the new president of Uganda Marketers Society


Prior to joining self-employment, David worked with various brands in various capacities including Geo Poll as a regional sales lead for a period of 3 years,

He also worked with Consumer Insight Africa as a research manager for over 2 years,

Prior to that, he served  at SBO Research in Business development as business and research consultant for various market segments

Who is Isaac Kekasi?

Isaac is one of the most accomplished individuals in the FMCG sector with over 15 years working experience in Public Accounting and FMCGs sectors.

He is the current Business Development & Commercialization Director at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, Uganda responsible for business growth across all territories countrywide a position he has been for the last two years.

Prior to  being elevated to his current role, Isaac was the Sales and Marketing Manager at the same brand over I year.

Isaac has previously worked with Crown Beverages Uganda, the makers of Pepsi products as Head of Marketing. He achieved tremendously while in this position for the one year he supervised Marketing, Communications, and product branding functions positioning Pepsi as a market leader.

Isaac also served as Country Head of Marketing – Nile Breweries Uganda in Bev Anheuser where he was responsible for growing brand including Nile Special, Club among others having been elevated from Brand Manager role at the same brand.

Who is Robert Sebunya?

Robert Sebunya is an accomplished marketer focused on Digital marketing with over 8 years across Agencies and Consulting, Telecommunications among other sectors.

Robert is the current President Top Bloggers Uganda a digital marketing body bringing together digital minds through  forums, masterclasses, events. He has been their president for the last 8 months.

Who is John Mwesigwa?

John is one of Uganda`s professional marketers with over 10 years’ experience across industries including Consultancy, Education, not for profit among others.

John is the current  Senior Director at Basewood Consult Uganda Limited a marketing and communications firm, Deputy Principle & CIM Coordinator at Datamine Technical Business School Uganda Limited.
